Since 1984, in connection with the Danish Championship in Pipesmoking, someone has been selected as Pipeman of the Year. The rules say that it shall be a person who is an ambassador for pipe-smoking and shows respect to others.
This year, for the first time, a pipesmoker from Sweden was honored with this prestigious title. It was the Hon. Secretary of the The Pipe Club of Sweden, Jan Andersson. The motivation was that he has been active in pipe-club activities since the middle of the 80’, he has for 25 years published the magazine Rökringar (Smoke Rings) and he has written two books about pipemakers: Bo Nordh – Pipemaker and Scandinavian Pipemakers, both of them published in English and in Chinese.
